April 2024
Live Fast, Die Young is a collection that encapsulates the beauty inherent in death. It challenges the notion that a lengthy life is the sole measure of fulfillment, highlighting the richness of living passionately and embracing youth's fleeting nature. The diverse color schemes and silhouettes draw inspiration from the ethereal transition of souls and the stark realities of death, including body bags, blood flow, and bones. Through these designs, I aim to create masterpieces in motion that personify death and its inherent elegance.
This collection became a two-time winner at Michigan's Threads Fashion Show during the Spring 2024 show, taking home both Best Overall Collection and Best Construction.

MOOD &
CONCEPT
BOARD
Created using Adobe Photoshop
My mood board for this collection is evocative and intense, blending themes of life, mortality, and ephemeral beauty. The dark, dramatic color palette is punctuated by vibrant reds, soft whites, and striking blacks, lending a haunting quality that echoes Alexander McQueen’s bold, unapologetic aesthetic. The board features an array of images: from a drenched figure in ethereal light, exuding both vulnerability and power, to skulls and distressed textures that suggest impermanence and the passage of time. The use of organic elements, such as smoke-like forms and shadowed flowers, contributes to the eerie yet beautiful atmosphere, reminiscent of McQueen's theatrical and thought-provoking aesthetic.
The combination of textures—wet fabrics, aged books, and intricate, almost grotesque body adornments—adds depth, while the recurring window imagery symbolizes a gateway between worlds. Overall, the board encapsulates a raw, unapologetic elegance, celebrating both the dark and the beautiful in a way that is striking and contemplative, much like McQueen’s legacy.

TEMPLE
Theater
Saginaw, Michigan
The photoshoot for this collection took place at the Temple Theatre in the Shaheen Performing Arts Center, Saginaw’s premier venue for live performances, music, and the arts. The grandeur and historical architecture of the theater provided a dramatic backdrop, perfectly complementing the themes of my collection. Rich ornate details of the space echoed the deep color palette and intricate designs, amplifying the aura of elegance and transformation within the garments. The lighting, combined with the theater’s vintage charm, highlighted the beauty and fluidity of the pieces while enhancing the emotional depth of the collection. The combination of the venue’s atmosphere and the collection’s intricate details captured the essence of both beauty and darkness, creating a visual narrative that was as striking as it was thought-provoking.
