My mood board captures a whimsical yet structured aesthetic, inspired by the contrast of delicate grasses and sturdy trees. Flowing, tiered silhouettes and ruffles evoke movement and lightness, while corset details ground the looks with architectural structure. The soft palette of greens, creams, and pastels enhances the ethereal mood, while natural textures and shadows tie the designs back to organic inspiration. It strikes a balance between romantic fluidity and intentional form.

For this assignment in Advanced CAD for Apparel, we were tasked with using the Kaledo software to design three garments and one accessory. The focus was not necessarily on creating highly complex designs, but instead on learning how to navigate the program, experiment with its tools, and explore its creative capabilities. By working with simple silhouettes, the goal was to build a strong foundation in the software, understanding its functions and limitations while still producing cohesive designs that reflect an intentional aesthetic.
In addition to the garments and accessory, we were also asked to create three prints to support the mini collection. This allowed us to explore the software’s print design features and understand how to integrate surface design into apparel development. The emphasis of this project was on becoming comfortable with Kaledo’s interface and workflow, learning how to troubleshoot challenges, and recognizing the quirks of the program to use it more effectively in future design projects.

This mini collection features three feminine, romantic looks with a balance of structure and fluidity. The Boho Two-Piece Set highlights a flowy skirt and cropped top with soft sleeves, perfect for movement and versatility. The Corset Midi Dress brings in structure with a fitted bodice and belted waist, softened by a printed scarf accessory that adds both function and elegance. Finally, the Tiered Floral Gown serves as the statement piece, with cascading layers and ruffled edges brought to life through bold, nature-inspired prints. Together, the looks create a cohesive story rooted in whimsy, greenery, and organic beauty, unified through the collection’s custom prints and earthy Pantone palette.
